As cold as ice: end of the year 2008
by TC on Dec.26, 2008, under Spacemusic
The weather brings us temperatures below zero degrees Celsius; this will be till the end of the year…. so that means ice! Today was a full sunshine, blue sky and freezing wind, perfect for a serious Christmas walk.
Not too much of editing in the studio as a matter of fact; of course the end of the year podcast Global Feed will arrive; it is likely the date of posting will be around december 30/31 (New Years Eve) instead of the earlier set date december 29th. Some sneak peaks? More than 100MB’s of data… the last podcast for 2008 is going to be an extended one; looking back @ 2008, the best and most remarkable songs we’ve played this year, downtempo and uptempo tracks, audio comments by listeners and musicians, exclusive unreleased ambient tracks, live interviews with Europe and the USA, bonus features to celebrate New Year’s Day….
Be sure to get it! Subscribe to the Spacemusic podcast feed by clicking the subscription button (Add to Any) or by simply copy/pasting the RSS feed into your favorite aggregator, browser, player.
Enjoy the last couple of days of this year, whatever you do, watch this space…

iPhone beste nieuwe product 2008
by TC on Dec.24, 2008, under general
T-mobile? Meer dan 100.000 iPhones verkocht!
de-activating (some of ) the social network
by TC on Dec.20, 2008, under Spacemusic
Spacemusic on Twitter? Not anymore. Spacemusic on Facebook? Not anymore. What’s active then? Our website: spacemusic.nl and the podcast feed. Simple. We’ve had the Twitter account active for some time, also the Facebook account. Just to see what would happen. The result was an aweful lot of e-mail and the need to administer the pingers/contacts that wanted to ‘follow’ us and stuff. Another channel to get spammed by at the same time! Great service by sending notifications when someone pings of course. But…. the phone weas buzzing all day long! Silly of course. Time for us to stop this. Not our thing.
Sorry to dissappoint so many people. If you wanna stay up to date there’s one easy way of doing that: visit the website spacemusic.nl and stay subscribed via the podcast feed. We appreciate it, thanks for your support!
Wanna see a bad one? Go see The Happening

“A strange, horrible and unprecedented crisis begins in Central Park” (but wasn’t worked out well…)
Director: M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs and more). Let us quote here from another website what the movie is about:
Philadelphia high school teacher Elliott Moore (Mark Wahlberg) is quizzing his students about the mysterious disappearance of millions of honey bees, when reports start emerging of a possible terrorist attack on New York’s Central Park. Together with his wife Alma (Zooey Deschanel), fellow teacher Julian (John Leguizamo) and Julian’s 8-year-old daughter Jess (Ashlyn Sanchez), Elliott flees the city on a train. But it stops at a tiny rural station: ‘We’ve lost contact,’ explains the guard. ‘With everyone.’
Vague, speculative news reports now suggest that an invisible, airborne ‘natural compound’ has induced mass suicides in densely populated areas. Does our ecological abuse of the planet have a nasty sting in the tail? Have plants instigated a targeted, coordinated attack on their number one enemy?……
Well, we did see the movie the other night; on the big screen, upscaled from DVD. We’re not going to waste an aweful lot of space here but since we’re always interested in plots as described above, we thought we’d warn you not go and see this one…. We got it from the movie rental because the theme seemed interesting, the director kind of promising.
Bad acting, bad character play, tons of anti-climactic scenes, very embarrassing scenes (What would you do when you’re about to get killed…. just take your time and go pack your bag and leave the city gently as if you were going to your work?), bad editing, weak soundtrack we can’t even remember, we made it watching the movie till the end.
For real: The Happening might get our Worst Movie Award 2008.
Coffee anyone?

crisis or stupidity?
by TC on Dec.08, 2008, under general
(posted by our local correspondent)
Sick and tired when watching the news and reading the papers today … media is shouting out: “bad times for everyone”, “economy collapse in 2009″, “no escape possible”, “unemployment till 500.000 people”. On the other hand the government tells us we don’t need to worry and don’t need to panic. The 6 o’clock news today is full of crap. Mainstream media yelling and presenting scary headlines and agressive figures. At the same time the government is acting strange, telling us we won’t notice any difference in our wallet next year. “nobody will notice the difference in 2009″, “all citizens will be able to buy their stuff as before”, quotes from our minister of financial affairs, the same guy that made a completely different statement 2 weeks ago pointing at us we’d have to spend less money very soon. Crisis? Or stupidity ruling the world? All of sudden we can drive our car for half the price. a Healthy monetary global system would have prevented this right? So, we’re sick. Beyond repair. Can someone please stop all these bailouts? Let it fail. Let it collapse. It’s the only way to start a new system.
But hey,…. just fire off the biggest fireworks ever @ Palm Island Dubai! Total bill: 35 million dollars party, the fireworks only costed 10 million dollars, 2 million dollars for miss Minogue singing 10 songs during 45 minutes (50.000 dollars a minute income), Now THATS sick!
Are you with us? Stupidity in full effect. And this is just the top of the iceberg…

Spacemusic on iTunes Store
by TC on Dec.01, 2008, under Spacemusic
Dutch iTunes Store exploration….. no Spacemusic podcast to be seen as a thumbnail? Not under music, not under audio podcast, not under anything? Yes my dear fan, you’re right. Why? No idea. Our team searched the UK iTunes Store and the Spacemusic icon, searched the US Store and found the Spacemusic icon, even the Greek Store shows our icon in the music podcast section. Of course the amount of podcasts nowadays is huge and we realize not every podcast out there can get featured when clicking through the tips from staff, new and notable, audio podcast etc. Ah well, 1.3 Million downloads doesn’t seem to be a trigger for our homeland Store, that is where we were born and coming from, to display the show… Here’s the link from our side then so you can subscribe.
Meanwhile we’re trying to contact the iTunes Store in The Netherlands about our chances. Because we have to agree with some worried iTunes Store visitors, it’s kind of strange we’re not mentioned in the audio podcast lists anymore. We wonder what kind of system Apple uses for publishing the channels in the store…
