Hi Folks, how are you all doing? Hope you can handle the big break we’re having at the moment… Believe us when we say this has been for a good reason. It has been three months since the last Spacemusic podcast (of course you have been listening again and again to older shows we suppose…) We’re happy to mention there is something in the air. And it has to do with the transition to Season 7.
The new Season will start with…. a new website! Brand new, built entirely from the ground up. We’ve been working around the clock to make this finally possible and to keep all existing data safe. Search for ’spacemusic’ in the iTunes Store for instance and you will notice the variety of podcast feeds that are available. The new Season7 feed is already there! Subscribe now and you won’t miss a thing!
With regards to the new website, we’re not just talking about a new Wordpress theme, no. We’re talking a new CMS system, new database, everything new. No more Wordpress, all has been done the JOOMLA! way. How cool’s that? Well, hours and hours of research as JOOMLA! was kind of new to us. And still is…
One thing led to the other, the past led to… the past. The site you’re looking at right now will stay online actually, it will move to another location (folder) so you can always go back to check it. Nothing will be deleted! So how about this new site? When will it be available? Soon. Very soon. We will launch the site ‘on the go’ . The site will grow over time and you will experience regular changes, tests and additions. But most important: in a moment we will all be in Season 7!
One step at a time, and this goes for TC as well. So sorry to mention there’s something not good going on; it has to do with TC’s voice. Simply put: he’s not capable of talking without serious pains. The downside of his condition is that it’s not about a cold or the flu. The cause is still unknown; TC will see this ENT doctor in the hospital next week. Via the new website we will keep you informed. Let’s hope for the best.
Thank you all for your patience and support, see you on the other side!

Hi folks! Hope you’re enjoying your Summer, hope you’re having a nice time. The Netherlands -weather wise- hopefully temps will go up again and stay @ higher levels in july and august. Back in the studio we’re looking for great and original tracks we can play on the podcast… having a hard time finding interesting stuff. To all producers/musicians out there: if you’d like to share your latest productions with this station, if you’d like to get air time, please feel free and send us some of your work/cd/tracks so we can have a listen. The best way is to share a download link, it’s OK to send physical albums to the Spacemusic postal as well. We’re looking for electronica, ambient, lounge/downtempo music for the Spacemusic podcast and Fresh Air! podcast series. Be original, fresh electronica and cinematic tunes is what we like. Looking forward to your feedback, thank you! ~TC

Back to the year 2005…. after reading this article in the Macfan about podcasting, an interview with Adam Curry, I went into the studio and thought about creating and publishing an electronic music/ambient show, as a way of sharing the love for this music with listeners around the world. So it just had to be in English… Many dutch fellow podcasters at that time didn’t understand why I presented the show in English which still is a funny thing now that I recall. For the podcast distribution I found Libsyn as one of the first podcast hosting companies, they still rock! The same day I took the microphone and introduced you to my world of music…..
Here we are, exactly 6 years later, app. 180 hours of entertainment online we think, not exactly sure, but plenty of hours to chill and relax! To celebrate our 6 Year Anniversary we figured: let’s take the weekend off and seriously unplug… let’s watch great movies, spend quality time in the kitchen for super cooking, enjoy great company, have an absolutely zero ‘must do’ schedule….. Great idea isn’t it? We think so too!!!
Why don’t you enjoy the silence or….. download available shows of Season 1-2-3-4-5-6. You can find the RSS feeds at this site. Thank you for staying subscribed and keeping this music genre so much alive and flying!
New shows will be online next month.

The year 2011 is really on the go… lots of new music is being released, it’s like a storm in music wonderland! The biggest challenge is to remember the best tracks and save them to playlists for the show… many different artists from many different avenues resulting in many different styles and vibes, so not everything would be right to play on one single Spacemusic episode…. or? Hmmm.
The series for Season 6 continues so there will be a 605′er , 606′er for sure. Also it’s time to say hello for the first time in 2011, we totally agree. Could be coffee, could be tea, music as well, watch out for a new episode of the Spacemusic podcast … coming to you LIVE from Rotterdam, NL.
Big thanks for all your comments and e-mail, hope 2011 will be a great one for you as well! Cheers, ~TC

December 31st 2010 is the release date for the ‘Oliebollen Show’ (named after delicious Oliebollen we make here in Holland for celebrating the old/new year). We’re gonna look back musically at 2010 and play the best tunes one more time again, do not be surprised when you happen to hear tracks from wayyyyy back or ‘krakend’ fresh or…when it’s not exactly s p a c e m u s i c. You can expect anything…

If you are tuned into the Spacemusic podcast you might want to look into your subscription very soon….as we will adjust our frequency a little. Sorry for this inconvenience. But since radio stations also have to move up and down the FM freq band it’s not a surprise a podcast has to do as well sometimes.
This might be the last time we will change the feed. At last! Spacemusic will create a Feedburner feed! Something we should have done 6 years earlier I agree, what do we know? We love music and tech but we’re learning all the time. Now, whatever will happen in the future, our adventures will hopefully survive with this Feedburner one.
Here’s a bit of history: over time we have created 6 seasons of the Spacemusic podcast untill now. There’s the first season, the feed is the Libsyn one. There’s the archive feed that includes season 2-3-4-5…. etc. It’s the iStream one and therefore we can’t let the domain expire, unless of course we change that feed as well one day. We will let you know if we do. Finally there’s the actual season 6. At the moment this is the well known spacemusic.nl feed.
Also we have used different podcast plugins on our site, the most recent one is the Blubrry ‘Powerpress’ plugin for Wordpress. Before the Powerpress plugin we were using a Podpress plugin but this one caused too much troubles and bugs. We just had to switch. The Powerpress one is now active for a couple of months since season 6 and it seems to be working out fine.
However, behind the scenes this so called ‘Podpress’ plugin has caused troubles with the podcast description on iTunes and the iTunes podcast artwork. Somehow we seem to be unable to manage the Spacemusic podcast artwork after switching to the ‘Powerpress’ plugin. ‘Podpress’ has left something funny we can’t fix. Something we really can’t explain but just happens. (if you are a GURU let us know!) It’s getting a pain in the thumb! We’d like to be able to edit artwork, descriptions, tags, basically anything! So….
We figured it out: we have to create a steady Feedburner feed to save our listeners from further changes. In short: via Feedburner we can edit our podcast meta data from a web GUI and change artwork at any moment in time. The Feedburner feed will get it’s information from any feed where our podcast is. This should not be something our subscribers have to worry about right? Cool! We just need a solid feed which everybody can subscribe to and that’s it. Simple!
What’s next? We will tell iTunes we have a new feed. And here it is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/spacemusicpodcast If you’d like to keep listening to the Spacemusic podcast we suggest you subscribe to it right away. Soon via iTunes or just add it right now to your fav aggregator. It’s already active! You should get season 6 episodes immediately. If not please drop us a line and tell us your stories. We’re here to serve you.
Hope this helps….. from now on the right feed for the Spacemusic podcast is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/spacemusicpodcast
Thanks for staying subscribed.

Thoughts: Good evening from Rotterdam, how are you all doing? What are you doing? What’s going on and are you still tuned in? Such a funny and typical thing that keeps spinning around here: the other day I saw this TV program on Dutch TV3 channel, I think it was ‘Kinderen voor Kinderen’, young kids singing songs about life and stuff, you know how it goes. But when I was paying close attention to the lyrics it was about “we all have a big house, a fat car, but boy … are we busy”, “we don’t have the time to enjoy life very often”. Now this really makes you think and sometimes the best way to realize is by hearing the words from a 12 year old ….. Honestly, is life really about the big house, the fat car, intense (internet) shopping, living on deadlines and working 50 hrs-a-week? For me it all comes down to this simple basic question: do we live to work, or do we work to live?
Spacemusic: Interesting songs and releases came in. The latest release “Nature and Design” by Mark Preston for instance, all great tracks with high soundtrack value. We invited Mark to chat on Skype about the album and he agreed. Something we both look forward to! Then we noticed the Röyksopp album ‘Senior’. It’s out there for a while and we’d like to play some on our show. After sending a message to them, no response. We will try contact them again. Another fantastic production by Intelligentsia arrived at our studios “Music for Motherships”. Super cool space music which should be on …. the Spacemusic podcast, coming soon! Last but not least: the release by id Submerged: very hard to decide which tracks will be on the podcast as ALL tracks on the album “Philosoreal” are just incredible to listen to! Stay tuned.
Communications: we are on automatic pilot; better known as the Non-Stop mode. Season 6 will continue like #601 and #602 : offering our listeners pleasant themes and atmospheres throughout the year for the perfect balance between the busy life and …the real life. Release dates will vary but you should get enough vitamines to survive 2010. Ambient, soundtrack, experimental etc. One thing we do wish for is a bit of feedback though; that way ‘the others’ and yourself can read about ‘the others’ and yourself. Say again? Please post comments if you have something on your mind? Imagine how sad our site looks like without true enthousiasm and spontaneous burps by our listeners…. So get ready to post yours today and wipe out all the ‘0 comments’ parts of the Spacemusic site. Go-g0-go!
Finally: … Christmas 2010 is coming and New Year’s Eve. Wishes and greetings can be sent to our SOUNDCLOUD , all messages will be transmitted during a special 2010/2011 podcast episode. Any audio format is accepted. Do not worry about the sound quality, we can fix anything
“after super shows like ‘Hydrolux’ and transmitting the Jean-Michel Jarre 10-10-10 event, I wonder: is there anybody out there?” ~TC
