The other day a Spacemusic listener has sent us a link to this video… we’d like to thank Christine for it as it happens to be the best clip we’ve seen in weeks! No doubt about it, a fine piece of work, a wonderful combination of audio and visuals, no need for any other soundtrack cause it’s perfect. After contacting Jon Rawlinson, the maker of this video, the file has been published to the Spacemusic HD video podcast feed as well. Hope you like it. We’ve sure bought ourselves the song by Barcelona: “Please Don’t Go” which is a great song! Here’s a link to their comment about the video.

It has been quite an experience ‘incroyable’ ! Mylene Farmer LIVE is beyond words; again she has touched me very deep. This time…. front row experience. Hard to explain, it’s a feeling, it’s a walking dream, it’s something unique. This podcast is dedicated to Mylène, her music, her unique live performance. The trip was a serious one…. and for Mylène it was her final concert of the 2009 tour.
Log: departure by train from Rotterdam Lombardijen @12:40pm. Dordrecht station @13:00. Change line for the next train: IC Hispeed to Brussels MIDI/ZUID. Arrival in Brussels @14:40. I decided to walk the last bit from the station to the hotel; next time I will definitely take the subway! It turned out to be a 15 minutes climbing up the hill task! Finally…..arrival at the hotel @15:15. After relaxing and unpacking the bag I recorded a soundseeingtour as featured on this podcast episode.
Brussels on that particular friday afternoon was noisy and messy! Hate to say it but the chaos and noise in this city caused a typical impression. (…tout est chaos!) I’ve been in London and Paris but somehow these cities seem to have ’structure’ and ‘manners’, unfortunately Brussels didn’t show these features too much… People disliked speaking English to me. They simply hesitated. I was better off speaking Dutch in some cases. Don’t get me wrong but Brussels is the headquarters of Europe isn’t it? (Say that again while stores are closed on sundays)
Saturday morning: alarm clock set @7:30AM. American Breakfast in the hotel was good. Left the hotel for my trip to Stade Roi Baudouin via subway. Arrived at the SRB station @9:30. I realized to get cash money for the official merchandizing t-shirts etc. later that day so where was the cash machine…? I asked around and was directed to the nearest bank at app. 2 km’s from where I was! Not very practical isn’t it? Welcome to Belgium. Ah well, good for some sweat and tears.
Back at the stadium ‘blue entry’ around 11:00AM. Already like 30/40 people waiting for the doors to open up and I joined them. The sun was shining! Life was good! Some drinks, some sandwiches that I got on my way from the bank back to the stadium.
Green light for entering the stadium area @1:30PM. Here we were able to buy lunch, water, beer etc. Soundchecking we could hear as the concert area was real close now…The waiting was till 5:00PM when the final gate to the concert area would open. And it did! Right on time… exactly 05:00pm we were running to our places!!! Literally, running!!! How cool is that??? Yess!!! Front row. Cat walk. All set. I was in !!!
@8:00pm the program started. Excuse me but I’ve forgotten the name of the drum band that had their pre-concert performance. Just like me I saw many people staring and being nervous just before the real thing….We wanted Mylène! Waiting again. Eventually Mylène kept her fans waiting till app. 09:30PM (!) when her eyes watched us from the bigggg screen. The show was starting….with the introduction. And that is an understatement;
Thrilling opening! I will never ever forget her eye watching from the screen and the lasers that literally were ’shot’ from the screen into the public, a 3D experience I had never seen before! The sound was beyond words. And I’ve heard a lot of sound systems in my life…. this one was f a n t a s t i q u e . Everybody (including me) was screaming and yelling, such a mind blowing lift-off. The concert from there can be described as a non-stop walking dream, Mylène took her fans on a journey, a journey that came from her mind, her soul, her dreams and was performed in a stadium filled with the 40,000 people audience.
Acoustic parts of the show, she had entered the center of the catwalk via the underground like the pianist did too. The songs they performed now…I can hardly describe it but let me try: moving and intriguing moments, confusion and joy, tears on all of our faces; ‘Point de Suture’ and the clip on the big screen - moments of full impact. The track all of a sudden became fully meaningful to me and that was when I couldn’t stay strong anymore. She got me! Don’t wipe your tears boy, it’s on everybody’s faces so why bother… just embrace all of it.
From the acoustic part at the end of the catwalk she was now walking back to the main stage; her gentle style, her fragile style, her beautiful clothes, her face, she passed me by at a 7 metres distance, one can’t imagine what I felt, and what we all felt these minutes; it was the interlude to ‘Avant Que l’Ombre…. It had become dark. Confused. Touched. Emotional. What did she do to us ? She just gave us her warm welcome…
Mylène took us from the dark into the light again, from ‘Libertine’ to ‘Dégénération to ‘Désenchantée, I took some video clips on my photo cam. It’s not in HQ but it’s fair enough to get the impression. The video is available from the link within today’s shownotes.
We’ve been completely in a trance, in extase, we’ve seen in concert Mylène Farmer! We love you!

Music on today’s show comes from our neighbours in Germany: Thomas Lemmer released a wonderful lounge/downtempo album entitled “Chillout Lounge” and we’re proud to play two tracks from the album; ‘Mon Amour’ offers relaxation and a beautiful melody, almost a melancholic side as the Bandoneon sets the tone. ‘Fading Dreams’ is chilled and groovy + puts a smile on your face!
Chillout Lounge is available via iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Musicload… Life is good. Keep it safe. Make a backup!

(11:44) end credits
Saycet:
Saycet is the project of Pierre Lefeuvre, a french music composer hailing from Paris who cut his teeth listening to Boards of Canada and Múm. His first solo album entitled One Day at Home resulted in nine atmospherical tracks, evoking abstract landscapes and fairy tales for adults from song to song…
Relaxation day….great coffee (from the Nespresso machine) and a bit of healing with fantastic ambient music from Slovakia. Via the postal we received an album from Emil Matko; he started Strom Noir in the beginning of 2007. We experienced the album ‘Luvyoo’ as a welcome treatment: super ambient, just take the time to switch that knob inside your head, don’t think but breathe in and out, the two tracks we play on this show really have that captured mood: “Nothing Really Happens” feels like the earth stands still and we’re watching ourselves from a distance. Second we visit the “Heartland” where past and present meet and greet.
Where past and present meet and greet: Luvyoo gets 5 out of 5!
Some notes from the Strom Noir Myspace site:
…Music of Strom Noir flows between slow ambient and minimal electronic sounds with using electric and acoustic guitar loops and synths as a basis integrated with field recordings and various abstract sounds. The result of this mixture are the minimalistic atmospheric soundscapes strongly touched by the melancholy.

If there was a place where we can live in peace, a place where we all love eachother and we all have the time to listen to one another, one of our greetest needs, that place would be called: Utopia. Welcome to UtopiaXO produced by Dave Hesketh. Start listening to “The Light” and you won’t be able to stop anymore, you want to hear this one from beginning till end and forget about your mobile phones and appointments… It’s a wonderful story which will take you by surprise, it’s crystal clear audio quality is stunning! It’s ‘live’ feel is impressive. The samples and surround recordings really become one with the music. Beautiful music and subtle vocals. One of the best ambient/new age albums avalaible at this moment.
This album started its life in the late summer of 2007. I was sat in the studio experimenting with a midi guitar. After playing for 20 minutes I noticed a feedback loop had started within the music - it was a beautiful, inspiring sound that meandered along - seemingly in control of itself. An hour later the whole structure for this album was mapped out through utilising this feedback technique. You can hear this original sound throughout the album. In fact, it’s the first sound you’ll hear on ‘The Light’. I then, by chance, met Jacqueline Barr. She explained to me that our home and the studio (in our garden) sat on a sacred and special site. It was thought that the studio may lie right in the path of a powerful earth energy line - sometimes called ‘leylines’. I immediately knew that I had tapped into this energy that summer morning when I had sat down with the guitar. So earth ambient music was born. I very much believe sincere music taps into the life energy force more than any other art form. I hope and believe that this magical place has now found an expression in a small but sincere way through this music. I also hope this magical energy finds its way to you as you experience the energy of nature that will fill your room as you listen to UtopiaXO - Dave Hesketh. May, 2009.

Passion for the HD for sure! The only thing we need to monitor is: TIME. The big files take many hours to process. The recording, the editing, the compressing, the uploading, the re-compressing for web based Flash, the RSS update procedures, updating the blogs and the tweets… Round and about 17 hours it took us this time. Hahaha! So we’d love to get your feedback on this one again…Drop us a line, record us an audio comment, donations are certainly more than welcome as we’ve decided to update our Blip account to a PRO account; this should prevent us from Flash transcoding errors and should safe us some more time.
Big Thanks to:
Earth-Touch.com for stunning visuals of the underwater life in Micronesia and South Africa. Landscape HD for the HD version of ‘Treasure’ by Jon Jenkins and David Helpling.
