This 11 track album is one of the best we’ve heard so far in 2010 in this genre…. excellent ambient/soundtrack files by two musicians who know what they’re doing: grabbing us and showing us around in their world. Official release: september 14th 2010. On this podcast two tracks from the album; seamlessly mixed so you won’t hear a ’skip’ or ‘edit point’ - it’s done LIVE. We have the honour to introduce you to… the new album by David Helpling and Jon Jenkins! It came to us this week and we had a good listen… as a matter of fact, we have never stopped listening since the day of it’s arrival cause it’s fabulous! Helpling and Jenkins have created a unique world to chill, think, process, feel and make decisions if you like. The album is entitled ‘The Crossing’.

Sunday morning after a good nite of sleep and a working week…had real Calzone for breakfast and hot tea. Reading the latest e-mail makes me realize I’m back @ the daily routines. There’s not much demo content coming in lately so we guess musicians are celebrating their holidays. Lucky for us Jennifer has sent us an e-mail with a link to Shamantis. And guess what? Bingo! Good music for our podcast. See details below.

Shamantis (Nick Pittsinger, 20) was born and raised on music and is an avid musician, composer/songwriter, and producer. He has had intensive jazz music theory training, and continues to push the envelope of sound by incorprating genres from traditional hindustani music to new and experimental forms of goa and down-tempo.

Flying Dutchman 2010-08-16 The Needles*

First of all let us thank our Executive Producers for this show, Patrick, Simon and Marcus, thanks to you this podcast/feed can be. Of course a big thanks to our listeners that also made their donations during the past few weeks, sometimes a dollar, sometimes 5 or 10 dollars, we appreciate your gifts and hope more people will follow you! It’s now august 2010 and we’ve come back from a fantastic UK trip. We have visited Eastbourne, Portsmouth, Southampton, the Isle of Wight, Weymouth and Portland…. Long walks on the Isle of Wight have inspired us for this specific podcast: The Needles is the outer West Wight: it is a row of three distinctive stacks of chalk that rise out of the sea off the western extremity of the Isle of Wight, England, close to Alum Bay. The Needles lighthouse stands at the end of the formation. Built in 1859, it has been automated since 1994. The formation takes its name from the former fourth needle-shaped pillar called Lot’s Wife that used to stand in its midst until it collapsed in a storm in 1764. The remaining rocks are all short and squat and not at all needle-like, but the name has stuck. So will this music…

Back in the studio after a real cool holiday destination in the UK. After spending a week exploring the south coast of England we are ready for new podcasts like this one. S6 on its way… slowly but surely

Hi Spacemusic followers! How are you doing? I just got home from a UK trip, the South has been a wonderful experience I must say and I will certainly return for a longer stay. Eastbourne, Portsmouth, Isle of Wight, Portland and many places in between. I will upload photos to the Spacemusic Picasa site later this week, stay tuned for the link.

Now, being back in the studio again after a long time… it feels a bit strange but very familiar. Time to login to sites and blogs like this one to keep you posted. Hmmm, it is now that I realize what has been the pain for me while doing blogs, podcasts, hosting, archiving, organising etc. There’s so many networks and facilities to maintain! It’s absorbing many hours of work behind the scenes. Believe it or not but this morning it took me 2.5 hours of updating the Spacemusic App! That is moving posts away from the App manually, one by one, piece by piece and reloading the lists each time between removals. All this to keep the App from building up endless lists of episodes. Of course all shows will be archived via the regular RSS feeds of Season 1-2-3-4-5. And if you’re looking for anything in particular, just ask.

The good news is Spacemusic will start Season 6 soon…. About the content: 15 mins Coffee Breaks and x-mins Flying Dutchman series will return! CBs will be available via the Spacemusic RSS feed only while FD series will be posted to the Spacemusic App as well so your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad will be filled with some of the coolest new mixes!
