Hello and welcome to the year 2 0 1 1 - back online with new shows for you to check out. This is the first one made on Jan 16th. Sitting in the studio, thinking about all those great tracks… first let me tell you some tracks didn’t make it to the 2010 end of year podcast; not because the tracks are not good enough… on the contrary: extremely good songs certainly worth to add to your libraries!
Let’s start with Saycet from Paris, France. Also known as Pierre Lefeuvre. His second LP release after the first one back in 2006. Talking about ‘Through The Window’. a Fantastic album full of magic and haunting melodies, vocals by Phoene Somsavath. Call this experimental pop, call this electro-nu-jazz, call it music that goes with many different moments during the day and night. Play this one loud and enjoy the Saycet universe. First of all let us thank our Executive Producers for this show, Patrick, Simon and Marcus, thanks to you this podcast/feed can be. Of course a big thanks to our listeners that also made their donations during the past few weeks, sometimes a dollar, sometimes 5 or 10 dollars, we appreciate your gifts and hope more people will follow you! It’s now august 2010 and we’ve come back from a fantastic UK trip. We have visited Eastbourne, Portsmouth, Southampton, the Isle of Wight, Weymouth and Portland…. Long walks on the Isle of Wight have inspired us for this specific podcast: The Needles is the outer West Wight: it is a row of three distinctive stacks of chalk that rise out of the sea off the western extremity of the Isle of Wight, England, close to Alum Bay. The Needles lighthouse stands at the end of the formation. Built in 1859, it has been automated since 1994. The formation takes its name from the former fourth needle-shaped pillar called Lot’s Wife that used to stand in its midst until it collapsed in a storm in 1764. The remaining rocks are all short and squat and not at all needle-like, but the name has stuck. So will this music…

As you can hear on the show our host thinks there’s a lot of sick people out there… >> Queen attack in The Netherlands! << At least 6 people were killed. Queen Beatrix and all other members of the Dutch Royal House were safe. Where are we going to? Queensday used to be the best day of the year, everybody happy, everybody party, playing music, hanging out, young and old, events in the city, fireworks @ night and so on. Now look what a sick mind has done to us. Status: he’s dead. Some say he deserved to die. On the other hand we’ll never know what got into his brain anyway. We hope it wasn’t a side effect of the swine flu… ???

Orangecello Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2-15 oz can mandarin oranges
- 1 box of Pillsbury Moist Supreme Pineapple
- ½ cup of reserved juice from oranges
- ½ cup of Caravella Orangecello
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup of oil
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Glaze
- 1 cup of sugar
- ½ stick of butter
- 3oz of Caravella Orangecello
- ¼ cup of chopped pecans
Directions:
- Preheat oven.
- Spray Bundt Pan with Crisco Pillsbury Flour.
- Mix 1 cup of chopped pecans with 2 teaspoons of sugar then sprinkle in pan.
- Mix eggs, oil, orangecello, cake mix, ½ cup of reserved juice. Blend well.
- Add 2 cans of drained oranges and Blend on high for a couple of minutes.
- Pour immediately into pan and place in oven on 325 for dark coated pan or 350 for regular coated pan for 45 minutes—You want a nice brown crust.
- Turn oven off and leave cake in for another 15 minutes.
- *Check with toothpick for nice clean stick before turning off oven.
Make glaze while cake is in the oven, let cool and thicken.
Pour glaze over top of cake right before serving.
