From a clean and re-installed system, this is your 15 minutes coffee break coming from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. We’re back with the Senseo shows and more exciting shows upcoming fall/winter season. But first of all your host will tell a bit more about what happened to the computer systems in the studio and what you can do in order to get your data safe…
BACKUP! Do not make the common mistake: “I will do the backup next week, it can wait”. Any idea how much your life depends on your photos, music, video, e-mails, documents??? When you’re not living under a rock and enjoy the internet and media like we do, chances are high we’re living the same digital dream. So we better keep the dream alive and safe right?
Music on today’s show comes from our neighbours in Germany: Thomas Lemmer released a wonderful lounge/downtempo album entitled “Chillout Lounge” and we’re proud to play two tracks from the album; ‘Mon Amour’ offers relaxation and a beautiful melody, almost a melancholic side as the Bandoneon sets the tone. ‘Fading Dreams’ is chilled and groovy + puts a smile on your face!
Chillout Lounge is available via iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Musicload… Life is good. Keep it safe. Make a backup!

Saycet:
Saycet is the project of Pierre Lefeuvre, a french music composer hailing from Paris who cut his teeth listening to Boards of Canada and Múm. His first solo album entitled One Day at Home resulted in nine atmospherical tracks, evoking abstract landscapes and fairy tales for adults from song to song…

Relaxation day….great coffee (from the Nespresso machine) and a bit of healing with fantastic ambient music from Slovakia. Via the postal we received an album from Emil Matko; he started Strom Noir in the beginning of 2007. We experienced the album ‘Luvyoo’ as a welcome treatment: super ambient, just take the time to switch that knob inside your head, don’t think but breathe in and out, the two tracks we play on this show really have that captured mood: “Nothing Really Happens” feels like the earth stands still and we’re watching ourselves from a distance. Second we visit the “Heartland” where past and present meet and greet.
Some notes from the Strom Noir Myspace site:
…Music of Strom Noir flows between slow ambient and minimal electronic sounds with using electric and acoustic guitar loops and synths as a basis integrated with field recordings and various abstract sounds. The result of this mixture are the minimalistic atmospheric soundscapes strongly touched by the melancholy.

If there was a place where we can live in peace, a place where we all love eachother and we all have the time to listen to one another, one of our greetest needs, that place would be called: Utopia. Welcome to UtopiaXO produced by Dave Hesketh. Start listening to “The Light” and you won’t be able to stop anymore, you want to hear this one from beginning till end and forget about your mobile phones and appointments… It’s a wonderful story which will take you by surprise, it’s crystal clear audio quality is stunning! It’s ‘live’ feel is impressive. The samples and surround recordings really become one with the music. Beautiful music and subtle vocals. One of the best ambient/new age albums avalaible at this moment.

This album started its life in the late summer of 2007. I was sat in the studio experimenting with a midi guitar. After playing for 20 minutes I noticed a feedback loop had started within the music - it was a beautiful, inspiring sound that meandered along - seemingly in control of itself. An hour later the whole structure for this album was mapped out through utilising this feedback technique. You can hear this original sound throughout the album. In fact, it’s the first sound you’ll hear on ‘The Light’. I then, by chance, met Jacqueline Barr. She explained to me that our home and the studio (in our garden) sat on a sacred and special site. It was thought that the studio may lie right in the path of a powerful earth energy line - sometimes called ‘leylines’. I immediately knew that I had tapped into this energy that summer morning when I had sat down with the guitar. So earth ambient music was born. I very much believe sincere music taps into the life energy force more than any other art form. I hope and believe that this magical place has now found an expression in a small but sincere way through this music. I also hope this magical energy finds its way to you as you experience the energy of nature that will fill your room as you listen to UtopiaXO - Dave Hesketh. May, 2009.

Many of his tracks can be found on numerous Chillout and Lounge compilations released world-wide and are among the most played titles in the bars and cafés of Ibiza, for example the Café del Mar. At last these well known tracks will be combined with terrific new creations on one album…. INTOXICATING is already one of the finest albums of 2009 in the lounge genre, go get it! We will play tracks on the Fresh Air! Lounge Series podcast as well…

“The album title ‘Intoxicating’ describes his music perfectly. Ambient and Chillout sounds are mixed together to form a distinctive, urban audio-cocktail with a wide range of emotions and atmospheres. Flavio incorporates Electronica, Funk and Film music creating a breathtakingly groovy album which transcends the usual styles of the Lounge genre”

When the heath is becoming too much, it’s hi time to cool off and chillout… Big fan in the studio, opening an evelope from Latvia, Riga. Fantastic new space music album by Gulan called “Space Projections”. Prepare yourself for a world full of sounds, patterns, atmopherics and meditation. Gulan takes us on a tour we will not put in a box like ‘file it under bla bla bla’. Gulan’s music is unique: he combines many layers and sounds that will start to interfere, there’s a dialogue between sounds, there’s a cosmic process going on and the listener will be in the middle of this awesome experience. Go hear it!

This sunday morning the City of Rotterdam was grey and misty… for a moment we thought we’re gonna see Autumn Leaves here! Such moments we dive into the archives of our music collection. Today we found: Forma Tadre. It has been on our minds to play on the podcast for years now. We had to play and record the music from a mini-disc to Logic first and now it’s here on the Senseo Sunday podcast. This album “Automate” can be filed under Experimental Ambient, Industrial Ambient. Brings back memories - “music that I first heard on a local radio station in 1995 in The Hague, TC” - It’s not exactly dinner music, it brings us dreamy and hypnotic loops and sounds, play @ high volume! Sunshine is getting through again, humidity at a very high level so we’ve got ourselves a sticky situation now.

Sticky situation: 26C and humidity at very high levels.

(AUDIO) Shipped to us by Spotted Peccary, the new album by Terra Ambient has it’s own tone, it’s own vibe, it’s own and true magic. Have to say, took a second listening session before we got into the right stream sort of speak…. That’s what the daily circumstances do to us. Start. First of all, never heard a fade-in like the first track of this album… from zero decibels to a room filled with Terra Ambient in couple of minutes. The mix is golden. The mood is just right for starting your day as well as ending is and go to bed. Jeff has done a fantastic job with this ‘layered’ production: there’s so much to discover each time you’ll hear this album. It seems it never stops to develop, simply fantastic!.
