Sleepy Town Manufacture are one of the first participants of the astonishing invasion of russian electronica into the western world. The band was founded in 1999 by Roman Komarov, Anton Lukoyanychev and Alexander Ananyev. Alexander also produces a unspeakably warm ambient under the name Beautumn.
The Jukebox plays Enjoy The Silence - the Sleepy shows his skills remix - in one word: one of the coolest remixes we’ve ever heard of this song! Again… Depeche Mode as a source of inspiration. Where did we see that before?… Oh, and we really don’t know where you can get the track to be honest. As far as we know, it’s not for sale anyway, so, enjoy the silence.

Certainly more beats than usual on today’s episode. One could even call this one a bit ‘alternative’. This show won’t go with your dinner table we suppose… so that you know what to expect. Hypnotic tunes and beats that come through the speakers, cinematic layers and IDM like arrangements; performances by Ferry Corsten (Rotterdam, NL), Side Liner from Greece, Ab Ovo from France. Just to name a few. Spacemusic introduces you to the official April/May holidays in Holland as we have the rest of the week off. So now it’s really time to do stuff that normally spoken slips through the fingers… We’d like to remind you of the upcoming new Fresh Air! Logic System - links and info -
Logic System is a musical project of Hideki Matsutake. Hideki started as an assistant for Isao Tomita n the 70’s and is well-known as the sequencer programmer and modular synthesizer operator for the Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO), but he wasn’t a member of YMO. He worked on several of their albums and toured with his huge collection of synths. He also did sequencing work for numerous technopop albums for other artists, particularily in the early 80’s. In 1996 he performed in a big concert event organized by Isao Tomita and was also guest on Towa Tei albums. On his website is a huge number of MIDI files he released, with some of YMO’s original songs.

Looking outside the window here on monday december 8th 2008 we see nothing but white fog…. perfect day for recording the Spacemusic podcast. So here we are at 10:00AM with an excellent playlist. The fog in Rotterdam is getting heavier with the minute and we shot a picture that you can see in the shownotes.
